TAMI "T.C." R. CALVETTI 1964-2021
Tami Calvetti, age 56, of Vero Beach, Florida died unexpectedly at home on January 27, 2021 after a recent diagnosis of cancer.
She was born on December 12, 1964 in Pekin, Illinois. Tami graduated from Pekin High School in 1983 and soon moved to Vero Beach, Florida. Tami followed in her mother's footsteps and acquired her cosmetology license and soon became one the most talented hair stylist in Vero Beach. After many years at various salons, Tami and her future husband of 19 years, Eric Johnson, founded Calvetti & Company in January of 1993 and created one of the most successful salons on the Treasure Coast.
Survivors include: Sister, Teresa (Calvetti) Penkwitz (husband Jeffrey) of Tomah, Wisconsin; Aunts Mary Comfort of Edinburg, Illinois and Jane Comfort of North Pekin, Illinois; and special friend Kevin Kieser of Vero Beach.; She was preceded in death by her mother Janet M. (Calvetti) Olt, father Theodore L. Calvetti III, and stepfather David L. Olt.
Cox-Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home has handled Tami's cremation wishes. Future intentions for a Celebration of Life will be announced for a later date via social media. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorial contributions to be made to Samaritan Center Transitional Housing, Vero Beach, Florida in memory of Tami Calvetti.
Besides loving animals, Tami enjoyed gardening, entertaining and helping others in need. She will be remembered as a Christian-conscious, generous, fun-spirited, easy-going person with natural creative talents and an ability to relate to anyone who crossed her path in life. She created strong relationships with loyal clients that lasted over 30 years.
A special thanks to Eric Johnson, long-time childhood friend Bart Clifton, and Kevin Kieser for being there during her final days. She will be greatly missed by all.
