Thelma (Smith) Brown, 94, of Vero Beach, Fl, formerly of Riverside, RI, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2014. Thelma was born in Newport, RI on July 27, 1919, the daughter of Leon and Jennie (Thomas) Smith. She is survived by her beloved husband of 73 years, Clifton Brown, her three sons, Gilbert and wife Lee of North Kingstown, RI, Stephan and wife Sally of Harwichport, MA, and Jeffrey and wife Linda of Barrington, RI, and her nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
She resided in Riverside, RI for many years while raising her family. She was a member of Riverside Congregational Church and worked at Roger Williams Bank and Old Colony Bank. Upon retiring, she lived in Fairlane Harbor in Vero Beach, Fl before moving to Indian River Estates in Vero Beach. She was an active member of the Indian River Estates community and of The Community Church of Vero Beach. She was a member of Eastern Star, Red Hat Society, and P.E.O. She enjoyed shopping, tennis, bridge, bike riding, traveling, summers on Block Island. She was a warm and loving person who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
