Thomas Beers' Obituary
Thomas Edward Beers, 72 of Vero Beach, Fl passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at his home.
Thomas was born on January 13, 1943 in Pontiac Michigan to Margaret and Elmer Beers. Although born with disabilities, not a day would pass without a smile coming to Tom's face and infectiously to all those about him. This was especially so of late with Tom in his new home with housemate Delmas, like a brother, housemother Sandra and his family of caregivers, all so special, all so loved by him.
Tom was known for his cheerful personality, kindness, and sensitivity and caring for others. Tom's parents are much missed by him as they passed a number of years ago; their pictures fill his room and wallet as do those of his still present relatives and caregivers. Tom's aunt Jane McKee brightens his holidays, especially his birthdays and Christmas with visits from Michigan. Cousin John (Sonia) McKee sometimes with family or various of Tom's family, friends and caregivers so often accompany him to meals and outings, Tom always quite the dresser for whatever the occasion might suggest.
Tom's greatest athletic endeavor and passion was bowling and especially when he had buddy Chris to "always?" beat. Tom is most proud to show off his "Special Olympic" ribbons and medals for bowling Tom's other hobbies were fishing and boating with cousin John, biking, golf with his parents, movie and meal outings with Sandra and Delmas, scanner and music listening, and eating {always a clean plate) meals fixed by Sandra or special occasion cakes from cousin Sonia, oops!- lets not forget opening special occasion cards with MONEY on board (as pictured).
Tom believed in God and attended many different churches of differing denominations during his lifetime. He was always telling of his many baptisms and church on Sunday was an event you dared not cause him to miss or a bad day was certainly afoot.
Thomas is survived by his aunt Jane McKee of Michigan, his cousin John (Sonia) McKee of Vero Beach, many more cousins and their family about the USA and most importantly his special family of housemate Delmas and home caregivers Sandra, Yvette, Keontiki, ReKeville, and Sandrine.
Memorial Services will be held at a later date and are private.
