Obit: Thomas Wade Carey
Thomas Wade Carey, 90, of Vero Beach, FL died Thursday, February 3, 2011 in Vero Beach, FL.
Mr. Carey was born May 6, 1920 in St. Paul, MN and had been a resident of Vero Beach for 27 years, moving from Cherry Hill, NJ.
He was a Civil Engineer, who was instrumental in the start-up of Indian River Habitat for Humanity, as well as many other charitable organizations. He was one of the founding members of Christ Church, where he sang in the choir. Mr. Carey was a veteran of WW II, serving as a Lieutenant in the US Army Air Corp and then the US Air Force.
His survivors include his wife Jean Carey of Vero Beach, FL, son Thomas W. Carey, Jr.,
of Sebastian, FL, daughter Barbara Carey Conlin of Marlton, NJ, sister-in-law Helen Wade Carey of Alexandria VA, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Service: His memorial service will be held 1:00 PM, Thursday, February 10, 2011 at Christ Church in Vero Beach.
