Thomas F. Peel, 89, of Vero Beach, Florida, died Friday April 4, 2014 at Indian River Medical Center. Mr. Peel graduated from the University of Chicago with a B.S. in Chemistry in 1945. In 1984, he retired from the Rock Island Railroad after 33 years of service in the laboratory and eventually in the executive offices. Following his retirement, Mr. Peel moved to Vero Beach from Flossmoor, IL. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Eileen Peel and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 1 pm, Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church, Vero Beach.
