Thomas J. Rooney, 87, of Vero Beach, FL died Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach.
Mr. Rooney was born August 28, 1922 in Boston, MA and moved to Vero Beach 25 years ago from Wolfeboro, NH.
He was a Supervisor for the New England Telephone Company in Boston and was a veteran of WW II serving in the U.S. Marine Corps in the Pacific Theater. Mr. Rooney was a member of St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach.
Survivors include his daughter Kathleen E. Mitchell of Vero Beach, sister Catherine Jones of Boston, MA, two grandsons and two granddaughters.
She was predeceased by his wife of 49 years Edith Rooney.
Services: Mass will be celebrated 10 AM, Saturday, March 20, 2010 at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach. Inurnment will be at Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose, Massachusetts.
