Thomas Vanderheiden's Obituary
Thomas E. Vanderheiden, 74, of Vero Beach died Friday, July 13, 2012 at the VNA Hospice House.
Mr. Vanderheiden was born August 23, 1937 in Valentine, NE. He had been a resident of Vero Beach for 1 ½ years, coming from Colorado.
He served in the United States Army Reserves.
He graduated with a BS in engineering from Marquette University.
Prior to his retirement he worked as an engineer and project manager.
He attended Saint Helen Catholic Church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Project Management Institute, the Elks Lodge and the Sigma Phi Delta Fraternity.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Carol J. Vanderheiden; son Kurt (Tammy) Vanderheiden of Myrtle Beach, SC; daughter Annette (David) Abbott of Highlands Ranch, CO; sister Janice Hewitt of South Dakota; brother James Vanderheiden of Minnesota and 3 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother Don Vanderheiden.
Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Hospice House at VNA Hospice House, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960 or to National Jewish Health, Memorial Department at 1400 Jackson Street, Denver, CO 80206.
No services are planned at this time.
