Tim Galego, 49, of Vero Beach, FL passed away Tuesday October 18th. Tim was a devoted father, loving son, wonderful husband, best brother, coolest uncle and a big hearted friend to many.
He was born to Beverly and Gerald (deceased) Galego in Springfield, MA. He grew up in Western Massachusetts (the "413") and enjoyed all it had to offer: Mrs. Murphy's Donuts, The Red Rose, The Big E and the Summer House. He enjoyed music, in particular playing the guitar and having his band practices drive his family crazy. He loved the outdoors: be it canoeing, chopping down trees and time at the local farms as a cow hand. You could spot him driving his land cruiser through the woods or driving the family tractor through town (with no brakes). Tim attended high school in Springfield and was a graduate of Northeastern University. Having enough of snow and cold, he moved to Vero Beach which would become his home.
He met his future wife, Kendahl, while working in Vero Beach. They became best friends and married in 2000 in the mountains of CA where Kendahl grew up. They were a great match.
Tim had a love for many things from history, cars, antiques and music. Tim's love for cars led him to running his successful auto business. Whether it was a Ferrari, classic Vette or old Land Cruiser, he loved them all. He enjoyed being part of the Vero Beach and surrounding community and made many great friendships along the way. Tim had a very strong relationship with his mother Bev and they were very close. He was incredibly good to her and was always there for her.
Tim's world changed for the best when his daughter Samantha was born. She was the love of his life! He was incredibly devoted to Samantha and they were inseparable. He was there for her at every turn in her life. Tim loved that little girl more than anything and did all he could to make her life great.
Samantha's educational journey led them both on the path to St. Helen's. Tim and Samantha found in St. Helen's a wonderful, close knit and welcoming community that they joined. Tim loved being as involved as he could with Samantha at St. Helen's. It became a great source of community in their lives and continues to be even after his passing.
Tim's best quality (aside from a great irreverent sense of humor) was his big heart. Tim would do anything for anybody any time. He would rarely say no. He cared for people deeply and was always there for his wife, daughter, mother, brother, family and friends when they needed it most. He did all this behind the scenes as well. He never needed to be or wanted to be the center of attention.
Tim was a great man. Period. He will be remembered as such. We love you, Tim, and will carry you in our hearts forever.
Tim is survived by his wife, Kendahl and daughter Samantha, of Vero Beach; his mother Beverly Galego of Vero Beach; brother John Galego and his wife Sherri; niece Christina and nephew Jack of Boston.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday October 26th from 5 to 7pm at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home. A Mass will be held on Thursday October 27th at 10am at St. Helen Catholic Church followed by a gathering at the North room at St. Helen's School.
