It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Trevor Henry Smith (Vero Beach, Florida), born 6-5-1940, in Leeds, England. Trevor and family moved to Toronto, Canada at the age of 17, where he met and married Phyllis (nee Thomas) and had 3 children; Jeff. Cindy, and Lisa.
In 1968, the family moved to Vero Beach, Florida, where he worked at Colkitt Sheet Metal and Air-Conditioning. They eventually took over A to Z Rental from his retiring parents, then changed the name to Vero Rental Center. After many successful years, they closed up shop and proceeded to work together at The Driftwood Inn, with Phyllis running the front desk, and he was head of maintenance.
They later retired together, to further devote time to their church and family. Trevor was always putting the 'family first' and was loved by all who knew him. He was a great father, grandfather, great grandfather, neighbor, and friend.
He loved all sports, and at one time was the oldest active amateur jai-alai player in the state. He enjoyed hanging out at Cindy's, for many family gatherings with great food. In his later years, he and Lisa (Lucky) would often be spotted at the local arcades together.
He attended Safe Haven Ministries, where he often provided a free ride to and from church. Trevor was preceded in death by his parents; Clement and Doris Smith, sisters Brenda and Rita Smith, and his beloved wife, Phyllis. He is survived by his family; son Jeff (Julie) and daughters Cindy (Aaron) and Lisa, plus his grandchildren; Justin.
Jared, Kristi, Kenny (Tina) and KC (Kayla), and great grandchildren; Chris, Drew, Jordan, Dillon. and KJ. The family would like to extend thanks for all the wonderful medical care that Trevor received towards the end of his life, especially his doctor 'only one I need' Seth Baker. Services to be set at a later date.
