Troy Calvin Moody, 59, of Vero Beach, died Wednesday, June 8th with his family by his side.

He was born to the late Tam P. Moody and Diane Moody Harbaugh on January 17th, 1957 in Vero Beach, FL. He attended St. Edwards and Vero Beach High School. He married Lisa K. Gunter in 1989 and they lived together in Vero Beach, FL. with his children and grandchildren.

Troy worked with his best friend, David Howard, for much of his life at Reliable Well Drilling and also for Indian River County in Building and Grounds.

Troy had a rich family history in Vero Beach dating back to the early 1900's. Troy Moody Park is memorialized for his uncle's service in the Korean War which is located in the McAnsh Park neighborhood. His grandfather was Troy E. Moody Sr. and was Indian River County's tax collector for 37 years. The Moody Family had a ranch on Route 60 in YeeHaw Junction where Troy spent most of his younger years hunting and fishing with family and friends.

"The Ranch" and the Ocean were Troys two favorite places to be. He acquired many nicknames but "Troutman" was one that most accurately described his love of fishing. He was a great shot even in his later years and loved hunting with both rifle and bow.

Troy had a lot of charisma and a wild side that drew people to him. Troy was hysterically funny and if you knew him, fiercely loyal. He also had a sweet, tender side that made him truly special to the people in his life.

Troy joined his father Tam P Moody, his mother Diane Moody Harbaugh and his brother Tam Moody Jr "Bucky" in heaven on Wednesday. His brother's tragic death shaped who Troy was in many ways, so knowing they are all together brings his family great comfort.

Troy is survived by wife of 27 years, Lisa and his children, Erica and Andrew Palmer, of Palm Beach Gardens; Robbie Gunter, of Vero Beach; Dustin and Karen Moody, of Delray Beach; Jason Moody, of Ft. Lauderdale; and Kathryn Moody, of Vero Beach. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Trevor, Taylor, Kahlee, Drew, Ty, Avery, Andrew and Zander. He also was survived by his brother, Broward Moody, of Virginia and Midge Davis, of Sebastion.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 14th from 5-7 at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Crestlawn Cemetery at a later date.
