Valeria Ellen Webb passed away Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Grace Rehabilitation Center, Vero Beach, FL after an extended illness. Valeria was a resident of Vero Beach and a former resident of Camanche, IA.
Val was born in Clinton, IA on January 18, 1933 to Harley and Helen (Londrosh) Luce. She was raised and educated in Lyons, IA, north of the big tree. Since her relocation to Vero Beach, FL she has been a member of St. Helen's Church. Val was a Die Hard Chicago Cub Fan Club beginning her love of baseball listening to games on the radio many years ago. When the Cubs won the 2016 World Series she said she could die happy now.
She married John William Webb, Jr. (Bud) in Clinton, IA on October 25, 1952. He died in 1991.
Of Bud and Val's nine children, six survive: Sharon Seldner, Eileen (Harry) Pruis, Timothy Webb and Julie Webb all of Vero Beach, FL. Diane Webb of Sebastian, FL and Christopher (Judy) Webb of Irvine, CA. Valeria had 12 grandchildren and 2 step grandchildren. Samuel Jorgenson (Haylee), Nicholas Seldner, Nora Pruis (Charles), Timothy Pruis (Marlene), Cheryl Pruis, Brandon Webb, Joseph Webb (Theresa), Ali Stillman (Shawn), Helen DeWees (Keith), Neal Rockrohr (Tamara), Stephanie Ball (Robbie), Phillip Randall Webb, Crystal Webb and Celeste Webb. There are 14 great-grandchildren, 3 step great-grandchildren and 5 step great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Joan Luce and Debbie Greve of Clinton, IA. Marilyn Lee of Goose Lake, IA, Monica Shadle of Iowa City, IA, Karen Webb of Fulton, IL, Elaine Maresca of Colorado Springs, CO, and one brother in law, Patrick Webb also of Clinton, IA. She also has several close nieces, nephews, and cousins that will miss her very much.
She was the remaining child of 3, preceded in death by her sister, Doris Isabelle Primes, her brother, James LeRoy Luce of Clinton. She was also preceded in death by a cousin Patsy Jo Farley who was raised in the family as one of their own. She always called her "sister".
Her children Ellen Webb, Jon Webb and Rose Webb also preceded Valeria in death along with her husband, Bud, parents, Harley and Helen, brothers in law, Joseph Webb, Keith Farley, Robert Clary and Donald Primes.
There will be a funeral mass on Friday, December 7, 2018 at St. Helen's Catholic Church at 2:00 PM. There will be no visitation. Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial will be at a later date in Clinton, IA.
