Verna Regina (Palecek) Gorman, 98, passed away on Good Friday, April 3, 2015 in Vero Beach, FL.

Verna was born in Marshfield, Wisconsin on November 26, 1916 daughter of the late Lena and Frank Palecek. She lived in Marshfield, WI until 2007 and then in Elm Grove, WI. In 2012, Verna moved to an Assisted Living facility in Vero Beach, FL.

Verna married Jim Gorman of Lawyler, Iowa in September of 1939. She and Jim raised six children in Marshfield, WI. Jim passed away in 1980. Verna was a devoted Catholic and spent 25 years volunteering at St. Vincent de Paul in Marshfield. Golf and bridge were her favorite pastimes. Her favorite saying was "How can a young person be tired, I have never been tired a day in my life!"

Verna is survived by three sons and two daughters; James Gorman and JoAnne Matchette of Elm Grove, WI, Mike Gorman and his wife, Carol of Pewaukee, WI, Mary Margenau and her husband, Jeff of New Glarus, WI, and Pat Gorman and his wife, Holly of Vero Beach, FL, eight grandchildren, Holly Wiebelhaus and her husband, Neal, of Wales, WI, Annelise Matchette of Denver, CO, Becky Schonscheck, and her husband, Ryan, Corey Higbee, and Molly Gorman, all of Arizona, Patrick, Jack and Megan Gorman all of Vero Beach, FL, four great-grandchildren; Lane and Grace Wiebelhaus and Peyton and Connor Schonscheck.

Verna was preceded in death by her daughter, Ellen in 2002, and the following siblings, Marie Young, Linus Palecek, Eugene Palecek, Rose Burr, Esther Durst, Pat Palecek, Sally Baumer, Jerome Palecek and Victor Palecek.

A Private Service for the immediate family was held in Vero Beach on April 4, 2015. A Celebration of Verna's life will be held this summer in Elm Grove, WI.
