Vernon David Chestine, 78, of Vero Beach, passed away September 6, 2021, at the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach. He was born in Gastonia, NC and had been a resident of Vero Beach since 2012, having relocated from Charlotte, NC. He had been a construction administrator before his retirement. He was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Vero Beach.

Vernon was a kind and generous person, who loved to tell jokes and give joy to people. He loved to work with his hands, especially woodworking. He really loved to fish during his retirement years, including in the ocean, rivers, and lakes.  He loved the outdoors and found joy in God's creation.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Vicki Chestine; 4 children who revered him beyond measure; sons, Jeffrey Chestine and Dallas Chestine, daughters, Susan Garman (Kevin Garman) and Reba Chestine; 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He is survived by his brother, Stephen Chestine (Linda Chestine)
