Victor B. Oake, age 85, died at home on Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011. He had been a resident of Okeechobee for ten years and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Okeechobee.
During his working years he was a building contractor and woodworking was his hobby.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years Florence; sons, Wayne (Diane) Oake of Toronto, Canada, Russell (Denise) Oake of Mill Creek, IN, Cyril (Jill) Oake of Buchanan, MI; a daughter, Joan (Joe) Cuson of Rolling Prairie, IN; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; step-sons, Jim Pike, Terry (Doreen) Pike, Jerry (Theresa) Pike, all of Newfoundland, Canada; and eight step-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011, at 2 pm at the First United Methodist Church of Okeechobee, 200 N.W. 2nd Street.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the First United Methodist Church of Okeechobee.
