She was born June 9, 1961 in Schenectady, NY and was a resident of this area since 1979 coming from Schenectady, NY.
Ms. Powell had worked for the State of Florida Department of Correction.
Survivors include her sons: Michael Byrnes of Stuart, FL, Timothy Byrnes of Stuart, FL; stepson: Michael Powell, Jr of Stuart, FL; father and stepmother: Richard and Elizabeth Philo of Sebastian, FL; brother: Richard A. Philo of Sebastian, FL; fianc: Todd Cool of Port St. Lucie, FL and one grandson. She was predeceased by her mother Margaret (Mame) Philo.

Services were held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 27, 2008 at Seawinds Funeral Home Chapel, Sebastian, FL.
