Virginia J. Thorne of Vero Beach, FL died Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach.
Mrs. Thorne was born in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Vero Beach in 1981 from Long Island, NY.
She was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church, the St. Helen Church Council of Catholic Women and the Florida Irish American Society. She was a Certified Braillist by the Smithsonian Institute.
She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas N. Thorne, loving mother of Peter A. Thorne and Thomas A. Thorne both of Long Island, NY, dear grandmother of Peter Thorne and cherished great-grandmother of Emily Rose Thorne both of Georgia.
Services: The family will receive friends 4-7PM, Thursday, March 18, 2010 at Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach. Mass will be celebrated 10 AM, Friday, March 19, 2010 at St. Helen Catholic Church in Vero Beach. Inurnment will be at Arlington National Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Helen Council of Catholic Women, Adelaide Kass Memorial Scholarship Fund, PO Box 2927, Vero Beach, FL 32961.
