Walter Anderson, 92, of Vero Beach, FL passed on Thursday, April 17, 2009 peacefully to eternal life surrounded his last few days by loving family and the tender and caring staff at Vero Beachs VNA Hospice House.
Walter was born December 10, 1916 in Kearny, NJ and move to Vero Beach in 1975 from Lynbrook, NY.
He was a veteran of WWII having served as 1st Lt. 7th Armored Div, was wounded in France and returned to the USA for recovery. Before the war, he had started a career in International Banking with the French American Bank in New York where he returned and rose to the level of Senior Vice-President by his retirement in 1976.
Survivors include his son Douglas Alan Anderson, of Vero Beach; one granddaughter; one granddaughter and nieces.
He is predeceased by his wife Gladys Margaret Anderson, of Vero Beach.
Service: A memorial celebration will be held at 4:00 PM Friday, May , 2009 at St. Augustine Episcopal Church in Vero Beach with Rev. Michael Goldberg officiating.
