Obituary

Walter P. Oldham, Jr. passed away peacefully at his home in N. Hutchinson Island, FL., on October 22, 2020 with his best friend for the past 16 years, Linda Edwards by his side.

Walter was born to the late Walter and Francis Oldham on July 8, 1930 in Brockton, Ma.

He graduated from Brockton High School in 1948, and obtained his BS in Civil Engineering from Northeastern University, Boston, MA.

Walter joined the U.S. Marines in 1951 and retired in 1990 with the rank of CWO4.

He worked for the State of Massachusetts as a Civil Engineer and after his retirement continued his career in private practice as owner of Milne Associates.

After raising his family in Brockton and Forestdale MA, he retired to Florida in 2000.

He enjoyed traveling the world, the Riverside Theatre, reading books about history and the military, listening to music, and enthusiastic about family visiting from "Up North".

He gave back to the Treasure Coast through volunteering with Meals on Wheels and making numerous financial donations to programs he believed in.

Walter was preceded in death by his first wife, Anna Flanagan, second wife Dolores Kaiser, and son Walter III.

Walter is survived by his dear partner Linda Edwards.

He is survived by his children Margaret and Kevin Burbank of Sandwich, MA, Richard Oldham of Mattapoisett, MA, Patricia Oldham of Vero Beach, FL, James and Julie Oldham of Forestdale, MA, Stephen Oldham and Christine Bonner of Wareham, MA, Kathleen and James Perry of Madison, FL, Amy and Ian Duffield of W. Yarmouth, MA, Michael Oldham of Buzzards Bay, MA, Charles and Casey Oldham of Hampton, NH, 15 grandchild ren, 16 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and Linda's beloved family.

There will be a memorial mass 10:00 a.m. at Christ the Kin g, Rte. 151, Mashpee, M A, November 10th,  followed by a Military Ceremony at the National Cemetery in Bourne, MA. at 11:30 a.m.
