Walter Philipp, 89, of Port Saint Lucie, FL died Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at the Treasure Coast Hospice House in Fort Pierce, FL.
Mr. Philipp was born May 5, 1920 in Frankfort, Germany and moved to Port Saint Lucie in 1983 coming from Tamarac, FL where he resided since moving from Valley Stream, NY in 1972.
He was a graduate of Brooklyn College with a degree in Engineering and was a veteran of WWII, serving in the SOS under General Omar Bradley. He worked for the Carpenters Welfare Union, and was actively involved in the Port Saint Lucie Community Center where he played billiards.
Survivors include his son Mark E. Philipp of Port St. Lucie and two grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife Ruby Philipp.
