Wellman H. Muzzey, 85, of Barefoot Bay, FL and Holden, MA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on April 8, 2008.
Wellman was born October 26, 1922 in Worcester, MA to Gertrude (Goodney) and Herbert Muzzey and was particularly proud of his Chippewa Indian Heritage.
He joined the Marine Corps at 17 and fought in the Pacific Theater receiving a bronze star at Guadal Canal. He was employed for many years at General Motors in Framingham, MA and cherished his retirement years at Barefoot Bay.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Shirley (Burrell) Muzzey, 2 daughters Debra Stone and her husband Arthur and Pamela Dorazio and her husband Wayne. He was the proud grandfather of Brian, Garrett and Devon Stone, and Cayla and Maura Dorazio. Great-Grandfather of Sean Stone and Abigail Stone.
Services will be held in Massachusetts at a later date.
