Obituary

William "Bill" Wayne Bayliff, 75, of Vero Beach, FL passed away unexpectedly on January 1, 2020. Bill was born on March 7, 1944 in Johnson City, NY. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Beatrice Bayliff. He is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years and absolute love of his life, Bonnie Cooper Bayliff. He is also survived by three children, their spouses and six grandchildren: William (Jackie) Bayliff and granddaughter, Madison; Brian (Jennifer) Bayliff and granddaughters, Chelsea, Kaitlin, and Hannah; and Lori (John) Lucas and grandsons, Jacob and Joshua. He is also survived by his sister Linda and brother-in-law Gary Koliander and in-laws Joyce (Steve) Green, Joan Wolcott, Vera Conner, David (Sally) Cooper, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Bill was an Air Force Veteran. He was the owner of Bayliff's Pub in Endicott, NY for several years in the 70's and later retired from IBM. He was an active member of the Elks Lodge and one of the founders of the Johnson City Elks, serving as Secretary, Exalted Ruler, Past District Deputy, and State Vice President as well as publisher of Johnson City's newsletter. Bill loved spending time with his family and friends, always with a great story to share, exuding with his charming wit and contagious laugh. When not with Bonnie, you could usually find him on the golf course, trying to improve his swing. There was no kinder or more generous son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, or friend and he will be grievously missed. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Johnson City Elks Lodge #2821 in Bill's memory.
