William Bill J. Stewart, 89, of Grove Isle, Vero Beach, FL died Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at the Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach.
Mr. Stewart was born January 27, 1921 in Belleville, NJ and moved to Vero Beach 20 years ago from Stuart, FL where he had resided since 1973.
He worked as an engineer for Exxon and was a veteran of WW II, serving in the US Navy as a SeaBee. Mr. Stewart was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and an avid fisherman.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years Alice E. Stewart of Vero Beach, daughter Patricia Pearson of Etna, CA, son Ronald Stewart of LaJolla, CA, and one grandchild, Steven Pearson of Etna, CA.
He was predeceased by his brother Dr. Russell Stewart and sister Grace Lally.
