IN LOVING MEMORY OF
William John
Bosworth
November 11, 1940 – October 13, 2024
William John Bosworth, aged 83, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2024. Born in Somerville, Massachusetts on November 11, 1940, he was the oldest son of the late John and Alice (Quinlivan) Bosworth and grew up in Winthrop, Massachusetts.
Bill was the loving husband of 55 years to Sheila, who passed away in October of 2021. He is survived by his daughter Jennifer Taylor and her husband John (JT) and son Christopher, all of Vero Beach, Florida. He was the beloved Grandfather (Papa) of Zachary, Margaret and Aidan Taylor. Also survived by his brothers, John (Anna), Gary (Anna), James (Barbara) and his sister Bonnie MacLachlan (Colin) and many nieces and nephews.
Bill and Sheila raised their family in Peabody, Massachusetts before ultimately moving to Vero Beach in 2002 to be near their grandchildren who they adored. Bill was a proud veteran serving in the United States Army Military Police stationed at the Berlin Wall. Upon his return to Boston, he began a successful career as a Claims Adjuster for Royal Insurance, retiring as US Vice President of Claims after over 30 years. Not quite ready to retire, Bill and Sheila moved to Connecticut where he worked for a short time as Vice President of Claims for Patrons Mutual, retiring for good in 2002.
Bill was an avid reader and news junkie. "You can't start your day and make any decisions without knowing what was going on in the world." A philosophy he lived by up until his last days. Bill was a proud lifetime member of the Winthrop Elks.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Helen Catholic Church 2000 20th Street Vero Beach on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at noon followed by a burial at Crestlawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CurePSP at www.psp.org to support research for the disease that affected Bill's wife Sheila.
