Obituary

William Bill P. Carney, age 89, died at home surrounded by family on Monday, March 14, 2011. Formerly of Bonita Springs, he had been a resident of Okeechobee for seven years.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. During WWII, he proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army. An avid golfer, he shot a hole-in-one on the Yankee Run Golf & Country Club course in Brookfield, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Edward Carney. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Lois; son, Chris W. (Barbara) Carney of Ft. Lauderdale; daughter, Kathy G. Livermore of Lakeport; grandson, Bryan C. Livermore of Lakeport; granddaughter, Nicole (Frank) Vetancourt of Ft. Lauderdale; great-grandson, Alec Vetancourt and great-granddaughter, Addison Vetancourt, both of Ft. Lauderdale.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 19, 2011, at 11 am with a service following at 12 pm at the Buxton-Seawinds Chapel at Abundant Blessings Church. Private entombment will be held at Naples Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Hospice of Okeechobee, P.O. Box 1548, Okeechobee, Fl 34973.
