William Joseph Carter, 82 of Barefoot Bay, FL died Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at William Childs Hospice House in Palm Bay, FL.
He was born November 8, 1926 in Rockford, IL and was a resident of Barefoot Bay for 20 years coming from Wisconsin and South Florida.
Mr. Carter was a retired Chief Petty Officer from the US Navy and was a member of Greater Palm Bay Senior Center.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years Marcella Elizabeth Carter of Barefoot Bay, FL; daughter Christine Barnett of Black River Falls, WI; son Joseph William Carter; step-son Robert C. Shuman of Scottville, MI; step-daughters Terri Manning of Ludington, MI and Dianne Finegan of Beloit, WI; sister Vivian Lindquist of Rockford, IL; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
