William Winfield Cunningham passed away, leaving a legacy marked by service and technical achievement.
A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he later worked as an engineer, contributing to projects including the Apollo 11 mission and the manufacturing of "Jaws of Life" rescue equipment.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Geraldine Rose Perry Cunningham. He is survived by his seven children: Douglas William Cunningham, Bradley Jay Cunningham, Craig Winfield Cunningham, Perry Allen Cunningham (Veronica), Julie Ann Strater (William), James Robert Cunningham, and Kathleen Edna Cunningham; his brother Douglas Cunningham (Sandy); sister Joan Gable as well numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He will be remembered by his family, friends, and colleagues.
Family will receive friends from 4-5PM, Friday, January 9, 2026 at Cox-Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home, 1950 20th Street, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
Military Honors will be conducted at 5PM in the funeral home chapel.
