William Otis Hodges, 83, of Vero Beach passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at the VNA Hospice House. Mr. Hodges was born September 5, 1928 in London, KY. He had been resident of Vero Beach since 2009, coming from Knoxville, TN. He graduated from Lily High school in London, KY, and later attended Sue Bennett College.
William served in the United States Army Air Force during World War II. Prior to retirement he worked for the Norfold Southern Railway for 37 years and retired in 1987.

Survivors include wife of 38 years, Carolyn K. Hodges, Vero Beach,Fl; sons Gerald Hodges, Barry Hodges, Walker Hodges all of Knoxville, TN, Donnie Hodges of Carrollton, VA ; Lonnie Hodges of Clearview, FL and Ray Sparks of Vero Beach, FL; daughters, Antha Wilson and Robin Hodges both of Knoxville, TN, Carol Ray of Hendersonville, NC; brothers, Clyde and Wendell of Vero Beach, John of Hamilton, OH, Don of Cincinnati, OH; sister Pearl Marcum of London, KY; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. Mr. Hodges was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Tony Hodges, Mendell Hodges and Bobby Hodges, sisters Alaleigh Winkle and Antha Hodges. Services: A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 26 from 2-3 PM, with a funeral service starting at 3PM at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory in Vero Beach, FL. Memorial contributions may be made to the Senior Resource Association Adult Day Services Program at 694 14th Street, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
