Beloved Doctor William L. Lasswell, affectionately referred to as Bill, age 73, peacefully passed away at Lawnwood Hospital in Fort Pierce, Florida.

Bill completed a bachelor's degree of Science in Chemistry at Florida State University in 1973 then continued to obtain a Ph.D. in Natural Products Chemistry at the University of Mississippi in 1977. Bill was awarded a postdoctoral fellowship from the National Institutes of Health at the University of Kentucky in 1978. He became an assistant professor at the University of Rhode Island College of Pharmacy from 1978-1984.

Bill applied for an Army scholarship and entered Brown University as a Captain in 1984. Upon graduating from Brown University in 1989 he trained at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC from 1989-1994 and was promoted to Major. Bill continued to serve in the Army until 1998. He practiced in the Treasure Coast Community as an Endocrinologist until his retirement in 2023.

Known as a compassionate physician, a wonderful husband, and amazing father, Bill's passion for life inspired everyone around him. Humble, generous, and intelligent, Bill's witty humor never failed to earn a laugh from the entire room. Family, friends, colleagues, and patients dearly miss Bill's pure smile and gentleness.

Bill's home improvement projects showcased his talent for turning ideas into reality. He constructed a summer kitchen, pergola, bed swing, and more. Bill also enjoyed reading, watching tv, and traveling. Aside from his hobbies, Bill always chose his family's company over anything in the world.

Remaining family members include Bill's wife, Anita, his lifelong partner he married almost 50 years ago, two daughters Julianne and Phoebe, and older sister Candace.
