William David Slater, 68, of Lakewood Park, Fort Pierce, FL died Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at his home.
Mr. Slater was born September 14, 1940 in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Ft. Pierce in 1984 from Farmingdale, Long Island, NY.
He worked as a machinist for Float-On Boat Trailers in Vero Beach for 22 years and was a member of the Salvation Army in Fort Pierce.
Survivors include his son Burt Slater of Vero Beach, FL; daughters Kimberly Slater of Fort Pierce and Mary Jane Worthington of Trinity, NC; brothers Don Slater of Las Vegas, NV, Gary Slater of Holbrook, NY; sister Donna Leistman of Troy, NY; brother Jerry Slater of Little Neck, NY; sister Susan Lask of North Massapequa, NY; brother Michael Slater of Massapequa, NY; aunt Dolly Niebuhr of New Smyrna Beach, FL and four grandchildren.
Services: The family will receive friends 5-7 PM, Saturday, September 12, 2009 at Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach with a Life Celebration service at 7 PM.
