Obituary

William Wade, 91, of Sebastian passed away on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at the Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach.

Bill Wade was born June 23, 1921 in Ludlow, MA. He had been a resident of Sebastian, FL for 25 years, coming from Massachusetts. He and his wife, Iris, resided in Scituate, MA off and on for 30 years.

He served in the United States Navy. He worked as an air crewman as an aerial photographer during World War II (1939-1945).

After the Navy, he attended Cornell University in Ithaca, NY graduating in 1949.

Prior to his retirement, he worked as a civil engineer for 21 years for the United Brands Corporation.

Bill was always active with a new sport or hobby. Some of his favorites were photography, bicycling, kayaking, woodworking, and swimming.


Survivors include his sons William A. Wade of Sebastian and Steven Wade of Vero Beach; daughters Susan Swetland of Cooper City and Nancy Grant of Orlando; and 10 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Iris Jean Wade; daughter, Rahima Carol Wade; and brothers Reed Wade and Donald Wade.

Private family services will be held.
