Winifred "Winnie" Louise Huffman Whitney, 74, has passed away at home on December 8, 2012 surrounded by her family.
Born in Wichita, Kansas, she traveled coast to coast with her military husband before residing in Vero Beach for the past 23 years.
She has been married to Richard M. Whitney for 56 years and is also survived by their 4 children; Mrs. Janet Duffield of Woodbine, Georgia, Mrs. Terri Carpenter of Swannanoa, North Carolina, Richard M. Whitney, Jr. of Yulee, Florida, and Rodney E. Whitney of Vero Beach, Florida. There are 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, all dearly loved.
She was an active member of Our Savior Lutheran Church while involved in many community services. Not only did she give generously from her heart, as an avid gardener, cook, and seamstress, she loved giving from her hands.
She is retired from the Avon Company.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Vero Beach,
